Withington Walls

Manchester’s street art scene never sits still, blink and there’s something new on the walls. From hidden tags in alleyways to massive murals covering whole buildings, the city feels like one big, ever evolving gallery. And right now, one of the most exciting places to see it all is Withington Walls.

Tucked away in South Manchester, Withington Walls is turning everyday brickwork into bold, eye catching art. Launched in late 2019 by a group of locals with a shared vision, the project has grown into something much bigger. What began with a few murals has become a creative movement, spotlighting top UK artists, sparking conversations around topics like mental health, and bringing people together through community driven art.

It really gained momentum in the summer of 2020, as lockdowns eased and artists teamed up with volunteers to add colour and life to the neighbourhood. Today, Withington is full of striking walls and good energy, a reminder that art doesn’t have to live in a gallery to make an impact.

Marcus Rashford Withington Wall

Back in 2020, a powerful mural of footballer Marcus Rashford popped up in Manchester’s Withington neighborhood. Created by street artist Akse P19, the artwork honors Rashford’s inspiring efforts during the COVID 19 pandemic, when he used his platform to fight against child food poverty across the UK. Manchester legened.
